John R. Ayres, MDDr. Ayres was born in Binghamton, NY. He attended college at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY and received his MD from Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse, NY. After completing his residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Florida (UF) in Gainesville, FL, he spent an additional year at UF as Clinical Instructor.
Dr. Ayres is Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American College of Surgeons. He is on the Adjunct Clinical Faculty for LECOM and Barry University and a Clinical Instructor for Nova University. He is an Officer with the Manatee County Medical Society and Committee Member of the Florida Orthopaedic Society. He is a member of the Florida Medical Association, the International Society of Computerized Surgery, and the International Cartilage Restoration Society. He belongs to Kiwanis and We Care Manatee Inc. The mission of We Care Manatee Inc. is to promote and facilitate the provision of free specialty and primary medical care to low-income uninsured residents of Manatee County, FL.
